The Knot

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hannibal Barca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike King!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a sloppy head kick
and Barca counters with a series of strikes. King will be more careful next time no doubt.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Barca is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Barca circles away and we're back to standing.

King moves into range and clinches up with Barca.
Barca stalling in the clinch.
Barca lands with a left to the head.
King tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Barca smiles and moves away.

Barca darts in and clinches King up against the cage.
Barca gets underhooks to prevent King's takedown attempt.
Hannibal Barca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike King.
King is trying to pull guard but Barca turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Barca lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barca is pressed up against the cage. King has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Barca down to the mat. Barca avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

King clinches up with Barca and pushes him back against the cage.

Barca lands with a light punch inside.
Barca makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Barca lands a hook to the side of the head.

Barca pushes King back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Barca has King pressed against the cage, preventing King from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
King is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Barca is defending well.
Barca lands with a light punch inside.
Barca stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
King looks winded!
Barca presses King against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Barca cracks King with a nice body shot.
Barca scores with a shoulder strike.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Barca lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of King backwards.

King is rocked!
Barca digs a right hand underneath King's ribcage. King let out a lung full of air as it connected.
King is still on wobbly legs! Can Barca finish him?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barca lands a shoulder strike.
Barca dips a shoulder and cracks King with a mighty uppercut! King falls back against the cage and Barca unloads with a barrage of strikes! King is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Barca screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

After the fight, Hannibal Barca was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
