PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zoran Miloshevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soylent Grimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miloshevich comes to the cage accompanied by Kosovskiy front. Grimm has chosen Soylent Green as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Zoran Miloshevich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Soylent Grimm!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimm misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Miloshevich counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Grimm throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miloshevich was covering up waiting for the punch and Grimm finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Grimm with a flurry of punches that miss.

Grimm missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miloshevich slaps away a takedown attempt from Grimm, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Grimm slips a jab and a cross from Miloshevich.

A looping hook to the body misses from Grimm. Miloshevich does a little dance to reset his feet.
Miloshevich tries to counter by clinching up but Grimm breaks away and moves out of range.

Grimm lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Miloshevich defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grimm.
Grimm shoots in but Miloshevich avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grimm shoots for a double leg takedown but Miloshevich sprawls well. He's pushed Grimm's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Miloshevich tries to close the distance and clinch but Grimm swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Grimm tries to pull guard but Miloshevich won't allow it.
Grimm drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Grimm tries to break free but Miloshevich pushes him back against the cage.

Grimm pulls Miloshevich into guard.
Grimm looking to hit a scissor sweep but Miloshevich is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grimm trying to control the position.
Grimm wants to sweep here but Miloshevich controlling him for the moment.

Grimm throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Miloshevich escapes and throws Grimm's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Miloshevich wants to stand but Grimm has his arm trapped.

Soylent Grimm has got the better of the ground game so far.

Miloshevich stands up and beckons Grimm to his feet.
Miloshevich dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Miloshevich closes the distance and clinches.
Miloshevich misses with a punch to the body.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Miloshevich just misses with a elbow thrown towards Grimm's brow.

Miloshevich looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Grimm manages to pull guard.
Grimm is trying to hold Miloshevich in close to prevent damage but Miloshevich has managed to pass into half guard.
Grimm wants to get back to full guard.

Grimm is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Miloshevich pulls his head out easily.
Grimm tries to roll over but Miloshevich keeps him under control.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Miloshevich moves in looking to clinch but Grimm pushes him off.

Grimm doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Miloshevich counters with a straight right hand.

Miloshevich has taken the fight to the clinch.
Miloshevich is looking to control Grimm's arms but Grimm gets an underhook and turns him. Now Miloshevich has his back to the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grimm postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Miloshevich working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grimm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grimm manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Miloshevich is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Grimm with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Grimm stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miloshevich swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Grimm makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Grimm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miloshevich works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Grimm throws a strike but Miloshevich rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Miloshevich would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Grimm looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Miloshevich puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Miloshevich is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Grimm tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Miloshevich just stands there and leans against the cage.

Miloshevich regains half guard.
Miloshevich is not content to let Grimm control the position.

Grimm moves into full mount! Miloshevich won't be happy about that!
Miloshevich holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Grimm tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Grimm is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Miloshevich can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


It looks like Zoran Miloshevich has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Miloshevich keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A nice elbow there by Grimm.

Soylent Grimm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Grimm has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
