PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between GaloZeus Tungsten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Beolvy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, GaloZeus Tungsten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Beolvy!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tungsten tries to clinch up.
Beolvy tries to clinch up
and Tungsten counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Jack Beolvy has been cut.
Beolvy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tungsten counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Tungsten gets a clinch.

Beolvy tightens his grip and picks Tungsten up, before dumping him to the ground. Tungsten manages to land in guard.
Tungsten keeping moving, preventing Beolvy from controlling successfully.
Tungsten trying to strike off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beolvy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Tungsten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Beolvy controls from within his opponent's guard.

Beolvy wants to stand but Tungsten has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tungsten throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Beolvy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Beolvy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tungsten tries to avoid it but Beolvy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tungsten to the ground. Tungsten escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Beolvy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tungsten.
Beolvy fails with a takedown attempt.
Tungsten tries to clinch up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Beolvy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tungsten's guard.

Tungsten had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Beolvy defends it easily.
Beolvy wants to stand but Tungsten is controlling his posture from full guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tungsten looks to clinch

and Beolvy counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Beolvy.
Beolvy is trying to pull guard but Tungsten has him pressed against the cage.
GaloZeus Tungsten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Beolvy.
Beolvy wants to get back to striking at distance but Tungsten won't allow it.

Beolvy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Tungsten counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Beolvy thinking.

Tungsten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Beolvy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Tungsten is trying to control the position but Beolvy postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Beolvy dives in for a single leg takedown but Tungsten sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Tungsten avoids the elbow strike from Beolvy, against the cage.
Beolvy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tungsten jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Beolvy walks away with a smile on his face. Tungsten gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tungsten tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Beolvy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tungsten's half guard.
Tungsten is not content to let Beolvy control the position.
Tungsten moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beolvy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Beolvy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tungsten's guard.

Tungsten is looking to improve his position.
Beolvy is trying to control the action in half guard but Tungsten is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Tungsten looking for submissions off his back.
Tungsten is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Beolvy passes to side control.
Beolvy happy to just control the position for now.
Beolvy wants to stand but Tungsten has his arm trapped.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jack Beolvy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Tungsten tried to score with a low kick but Beolvy checks it.

Tungsten clinches up with Beolvy and pushes him back against the cage.
Beolvy tries to stall but Tungsten uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Beolvy manages to pull guard.

Tungsten gets to his feet. Beolvy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Beolvy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tungsten was covering up waiting for the punch and Beolvy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Tungsten is trying to control the position but Beolvy postures up.

Beolvy is fighting to break Tungsten's control of his arms but Tungsten is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jack Beolvy has got the better of the ground game so far.

Beolvy is working for a kimura but Tungsten is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tungsten works his way to full guard. Good work.

Beolvy wants to control from the top but Tungsten keeps moving.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Beolvy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Beolvy is looking to clinch.

Beolvy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tungsten sprawls well initially but Beolvy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Beolvy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tungsten is just riding it out for now. Beolvy eventually gives up the hold.

Tungsten is trying to maintain the position but Beolvy is very close to passing his half guard.

Tungsten has a hand on Beolvy's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Beolvy takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Beolvy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Beolvy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
