Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jhon Virgulino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morten Guldhammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morten Guldhammer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jhon Virgulino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Morten Guldhammer!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guldhammer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Virgulino.
Virgulino goes for a double leg but Guldhammer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Guldhammer continues to drive forward.
Guldhammer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Virgulino gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Virgulino trying to control the position but instead, Guldhammer has worked for underhooks and has pushed Virgulino into the cage.
Guldhammer tries to pull guard but Virgulino holds him up against the cage and eventually Guldhammer drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Virgulino fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jhon Virgulino. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guldhammer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Virgulino trying to stall but Guldhammer improves his position.
Guldhammer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Virgulino walks away with a smile on his face. Guldhammer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Virgulino throws a head kick that misses.
Virgulino takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Virgulino tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Guldhammer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Guldhammer tries to clinch but Virgulino is having none of it.

Guldhammer closes the distance and pushes Virgulino back into the cage.
Guldhammer is looking to take this one to the mat.
Guldhammer wants a takedown but no success here.
Guldhammer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Virgulino.

Guldhammer effectively controlling the action here.

Virgulino wants the takedown. Guldhammer is fighting it off but Virgulino persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Guldhammer's guard against the cage.
Guldhammer wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Virgulino manages to pass to side control.
Virgulino works his foot free and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Guldhammer is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Guldhammer wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Guldhammer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Virgulino in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Virgulino is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Guldhammer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Guldhammer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You get the feeling that Guldhammer really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Virgulino tries to clinch there but Guldhammer circles away.
Guldhammer has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Virgulino is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jhon Virgulino is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Guldhammer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Virgulino swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Guldhammer has managed to clinch.

Guldhammer manages to break the clinch.
Virgulino displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Guldhammer.
Virgulino throws a nice looking combination but Guldhammer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Virgulino fails to land the takedown.

Guldhammer moves into the clinch successfully.

Guldhammer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Guldhammer tries to clinch but Virgulino is having none of it.
Guldhammer closes the distance and clinches up with Virgulino, looking for a takedown. Guldhammer pushes Virgulino against the cage but Virgulino circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Virgulino looks to land a combination but Guldhammer avoids it well.

Guldhammer fails in his attempt to clinch.
Virgulino leaves Guldhammer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jhon Virgulino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Morten Guldhammer.

Virgulino closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Guldhammer did well to prevent Virgulino getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Virgulino wants to work for an arm triangle but Guldhammer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Guldhammer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Virgulino is working away from the top position though.
Virgulino is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Guldhammer can do to turn this around?

Virgulino has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Guldhammer defend it? Virgulino steps over the head and cranks it - Guldhammer is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Virgulino!
