Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Zerkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stu Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bennett has chosen CFO$ - Rebel Son as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Stu Bennett was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stu Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zerkle gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Zerkle.
Zerkle goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bennett prevents it.
Zerkle throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Zerkle misses with a hook from the clinch.
Zerkle wants to take the fight to the mat but Bennett manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Zerkle is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bennett to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marvin Zerkle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zerkle misses with some punches.
Zerkle has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Zerkle tries to throw a body punch but Bennett avoids it by throwing Zerkle back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zerkle has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bennett is trying to keep an underhook but Zerkle manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Bennett wants to improve his position but Zerkle is controlling well.

Zerkle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Zerkle is working for a kimura but Bennett is defending it quite comfortably.
Bennett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zerkle is working away from the top position though.
Zerkle works his way into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zerkle swings around for an armbar but Bennett sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Zerkle's guard.
Bennett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zerkle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Zerkle has a closed guard, preventing Bennett from standing up.
Bennett trying to control the position from guard on top but Zerkle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bennett trying to stand up but can't free himself from Zerkle's guard.
Zerkle uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bennett throws a right and a left that Zerkle avoids nicely.
Zerkle shoots for a takedown but Bennett saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bennett has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Zerkle is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Bennett circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zerkle walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nice takedown defense from Bennett. No joy for Zerkle on that attempt.

Zerkle is rocked!
Stu Bennett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bennett steps in with a hook that catches Zerkle right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Bennett follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Zerkle looks absolutely devastated.
