The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hale moves into the clinch.

Hale throws a punch but it's blocked by Hoffman.

Hale throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hoffman has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ROCK-A-FELLA FIGHT CLUB in the buildup to the fight.
Hoffman throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hale has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Hoffman's corner calls for a 1-2. Hoffman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hoffman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Hoffman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hoffman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Hoffman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hoffman lands a slapping body shot.
Hoffman misses with an uppercut.
Hale explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Hoffman jabs Hale right on the nose. Hale blinks but takes it well.

Hoffman cracks Hale with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hale looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Hoffman finish him?

Hale will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hale throws a right hand that Hoffman ducks under and follows up with a left that Hoffman also avoids with ease.
Some bone on bone action there as Hale checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Hoffman throws a hook to the side of Hale's head but Hale sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The fighters circle momentarily. Hoffman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Hoffman lands a left and a right that send Hale crashing to the mat, dazed. Hoffman thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hale is still on wobbly legs! Can Hoffman finish him?

It looks like Brandon Hale has been cut.
Jack Hoffman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hale misses with the combination.
Hoffman lands a jab to Hale's midsection.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hoffman fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Hale out cold! Brutal finish!

In his post fight interview, Jack Hoffman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
