PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Underwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chupaca Tralala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chupaca Tralala will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabriel Underwood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chupaca Tralala!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tralala goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Tralala pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Tralala looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Underwood clinches with his opponent.
Underwood fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Underwood successfully pulls guard.
Tralala wants to stand but Underwood has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Underwood pushes Tralala off and scrambles back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Underwood looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chupaca Tralala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A left hand lands to the body for Tralala.

Underwood pulls guard effortlessly.
Tralala wants to stand and escape but instead Underwood has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Tralala utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Underwood postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Underwood cracks Tralala with a solid left hand.

Underwood is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Tralala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Underwood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Underwood has gone for a leg lock! Tralala slips out almost immediately though and dives into Underwood's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Underwood wants to sweep here but Tralala controlling him for the moment.

Underwood pushes Tralala off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tralala misses with a two punch combination.

Underwood throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tralala was covering up waiting for the punch and Underwood finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Underwood won't allow Tralala to get back to his feet.

Underwood is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Underwood drops back looking for a leg! Tralala is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tralala manages to kick Underwood off! Underwood jumps back into Tralala's guard.
Underwood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tralala is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Underwood dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Underwood is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tralala.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gabriel Underwood will probably get the nod.

Tralala is looking to get back to his feet here but Underwood is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tralala's back.

Underwood lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Underwood.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tralala is still in real trouble! Can Underwood finish him?
Underwood lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Tralala.

Tralala is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Underwood gets his way!

Underwood is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Tralala defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Underwood is persistently looking for the submission but Tralala is defending it well.

Gabriel Underwood showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Underwood, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
