Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philip Blake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tiger Army!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Army shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Blake manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Blake controls Army momentarily but Army frees himself.
Army throws a strike but Blake rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Army had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blake defends it easily.
Blake wants to control from the top but Army keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Army looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Blake passes into half guard.
Army manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blake would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Army is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Blake is aware though and is defending well.
Army is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Army controls Blake momentarily but Blake frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Army might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blake haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Blake got a little sloppy there for a moment and Army has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blake has managed to get both his arms back between Army's legs - danger averted.
Army managing to control the position.

Army working for submissions but it's allowed Blake to get to half guard.
Blake knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Army on the ground.

Army wants to improve his position but Blake is controlling well.
Blake trying to control from Army's half guard. Army has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Army is trying to hold Blake in close to prevent damage but Blake has managed to pass into half guard.
Blake wants to stand up but Army has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Army manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Army wants to sweep here but Blake controlling him for the moment.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Blake wants to get up but he can't break Army's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Blake looks to throw the jab but Army is out of range.

Blake fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Army getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Tiger Army dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Blake moves into range and clinches up with Army.
Blake is trying to maintain a safe position but Army gets an underhook and turns Blake into the cage.
Army softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Blake.
Army has Blake pressed against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Blake throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Army is looking to take this one to the mat.
Blake wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Army has him pressed against the cage.
Army prevents a body shot from Blake.
Army misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Army looking to stall.
Blake lands with a short shot to the head.
Blake blocks an uppercut.
Army blocking some punches.
Blake throws a punch but it's blocked by Army.

Blake gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Army.
Blake lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Tiger Army has been cut.
Army blocks an uppercut.
Blake trying to stall but Army improves his position.
Blake tries a body shot but Army blocks it.

Blake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Army misses with the combination.
Blake darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Blake moves into the clinch.
Army doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Blake lands a knee to the body.

Blake manages to break the clinch.
Blake throws out a loose jab but Army uses good head movement to avoid it.
Army jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Army keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Army moves out of range as Blake strikes.
Philip Blake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blake misses with a two punch combination.
Army tries a head kick but it misses.
Army dips to his left and cracks Blake with an uppercut!
Army will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Philip Blake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiger Army.
Army throws a lazy head kick

and Blake counters with a nice right hand that sends Army toppling to the canvas! Army scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Blake finish him?!


Army is rocked!
Army fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blake avoids it really well and circles away.
Army is still on wobbly legs! Can Blake finish him?
Army is breathing heavily.
Blake defending well as Army loads up on a big left hand.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Blake! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Philip Blake!
A very excited looking Philip Blake rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
