Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Backlund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manfred Honeypott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Honeypott has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Backlund moves forwards but Honeypott connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nice sprawl there from Honeypott as Backlund shoots in.
Honeypott lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Backlund looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Backlund closes the distance looking to clinch
and Honeypott counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Backlund throws a nice looking combination but Honeypott bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Backlund fails with the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Honeypott tries to circle away but Backlund has him pinned against the cage.

Honeypott is looking to break free of the clinch but Backlund has double underhooks.
Backlund drags the fight down to the ground.
Backlund looking to hit a scissor sweep but Honeypott is one step ahead there.
Backlund has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Honeypott should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Backlund has tightened it up now! Honeypott should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
