The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lands with a right hand.
Suri shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.

It looks like Arial Jones has been cut.
Jones lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Jones looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jones feints and then cracks Suri's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Suri down.
Jones throws out a loose jab but Suri uses good head movement to avoid it.

A quick step to the side and Suri tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Suri counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A looping hook to the body misses from Suri. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Suri throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones is looking to chop away at Suri's legs.

Suri misses with a wild body shot.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones slips a jab from Suri.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Jones paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Suri jabs Jones to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Suri tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Suri.
Jones turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Suri misses with a body punch
and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jones fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jones connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Jones thuds his right hand into Suri's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Suri comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Suri uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Suri throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Jones connects with the punch.
Suri tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jones defends well and Suri ends up having to push Jones into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sher Shah Suri. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Suri. Suri gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
