Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Steel Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Diggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diggins is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bonfire. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mr Steel Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franklin Diggins!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diggins is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Steel Penn's half guard.
Steel Penn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diggins is working away from the top position though.
Steel Penn regains full guard. Nicely done.

Steel Penn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Diggins with a flurry of punches that miss.

Steel Penn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Diggins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steel Penn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Diggins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Diggins is pushing down on Steel Penn's leg trying to pass to half guard. Steel Penn is fighting to maintain full guard but Diggins has managed to sneak the leg through.

Steel Penn tries to roll over but Diggins keeps him under control.

Diggins seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Diggins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Steel Penn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diggins has managed to get both his arms back between Steel Penn's legs - danger averted.

A close round but Franklin Diggins will probably get the nod.
That's time! Steel Penn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Steel Penn closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Diggins's guard.
Diggins has Steel Penn pulled in close to control his posture.
Let's hope that Diggins has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Steel Penn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Diggins might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Steel Penn haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Steel Penn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Diggins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
