PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Norman Parke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antoni Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antoni Hong told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Parke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antoni Hong!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hong takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hong throws a sloppy head kick and Parke moves out of range easily.
Parke swings and misses with a hook to the body.

It looks like Norman Parke has been cut.
Hong takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Parke uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hong.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hong working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Parke shoots in looking for a takedown. Hong tries to sprawl out of it but Parke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Norman Parke will probably get the nod.

Parke stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

I would just about give that final round to Antoni Hong.
Well Parke has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
