Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dennis Wise!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brenden Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wise throws a body kick that misses.
Wise missing with a left hand there. Abbott was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Abbott cracks the inside of Wise's front leg.
The fighters circling - Wise throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brenden Abbott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Abbott gets a double leg takedown into Wise's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Abbott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wise swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wise is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Abbott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wise has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Abbott has managed to get both his arms back between Wise's legs - danger averted.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wise holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Abbott avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Abbott fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Abbott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wise pinned against the cage. Wise gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Abbott throws a leg kick which misses Wise's front leg but catches the back leg as Wise tries to avoid it.

and Abbott counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Abbott has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brenden Abbott is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wise walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Wise is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Well Abbott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
