PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Constrictor Boa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jensen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Devour . Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boa lands a really nice looking cross but Jensen seems unphased.

We've been told by Jensen's head coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Boa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jensen tries to avoid it but Boa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jensen to the ground. Jensen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jensen lands a big head kick that sends Boa tumbling to the mat! Jensen takes a step backwards and waves Boa back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Constrictor Boa has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jensen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

so Boa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jensen wants to stand but Boa is controlling the position.

Jensen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jensen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jensen has momentary wrist control but Boa slips an elbow through the middle.

Jensen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Boa's guard.

Boa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jensen stacks Boa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jensen!

Boa felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gunnar Jensen will probably get the nod.

Jensen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
