Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jaakko Savolainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savolainen takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

It looks like Jaakko Savolainen has been cut.
Andrews shoots in looking for a takedown. Savolainen tries to sprawl out of it but Andrews keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Savolainen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Savolainen drops his hands momentarily and Andrews takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Savolainen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Andrews manages to avoid it.

Andrews closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Savolainen did well to prevent Andrews getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Savolainen wants to improve his position but Andrews is controlling well.

Savolainen is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 11th Planet MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Savolainen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
You can see the frustration on Andrews's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
