Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Great Cornholio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tapda Mattus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cornholio comes into the arena with Du Hast by Ramstein - Cornholio Mix blaring out of the sound system. Mattus has chosen My heart as his entrance music. Tapda Mattus has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Great Cornholio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapda Mattus!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mattus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cornholio.
Cornholio thows a leg kick but Mattus checks it

and Mattus moves into the clinch.

Mattus ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mattus no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mattus is looking for a triangle here but Cornholio uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Mattus looks to move to half guard but instead Cornholio has passed into mount! Damn!
Cornholio lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Mattus chipping away with body shots but they're not going to hurt Cornholio.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mattus tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Cornholio has hold of Mattus's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mattus manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Mattus tries to lock up and control but Cornholio gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Cornholio is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mattus has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Mattus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Cornholio working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Mattus wants to control but Cornholio is having none of it.
Mattus sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Mattus is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cornholio seems to be looking for submissions.
Mattus trying to control but Cornholio postures up.
Mattus might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cornholio haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Cornholio is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mattus has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mattus wants to get back to full guard.

Mattus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cornholio's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cornholio's back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Mattus's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Cornholio tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Cornholio wants to control but Mattus is having none of it.

Cornholio is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Cylon Training Academy, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Cornholio bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Cornholio is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Mattus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cornholio advances to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mattus can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mattus is pressing down on Cornholio's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Cornholio has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mattus after a bit of a struggle.

Mattus wants the takedown. Cornholio is fighting it off but Mattus persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cornholio's guard against the cage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mattus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cornholio is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Cornholio throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cornholio avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mattus distracts Cornholio with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mattus stands up over Cornholio, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mattus lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Mattus postures up in Cornholio's guard and throws a big left but Cornholio blocks it.

Cornholio has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Mattus should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cornholio has tightened it up now! Mattus should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Great Cornholio!
Great Cornholio decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
