Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Gotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan comes to the cage accompanied by I'd Love to Knock the Hell out of You by Hank Williams, Jr. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Gotti!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ryan.

Ryan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ryan lands in his opponent's guard.
Gotti pulls Ryan in to control the position.

Gotti looking for a guillotine here but Ryan defends easily.
Ryan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gotti is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan is working Gotti over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ryan connects with a couple of short punches.
Ryan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gotti is on top in guard.

Gotti throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ryan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gotti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ryan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ryan pulls Gotti in close to prevent any damage.
Gotti won't allow Ryan to sweep him here.

Ryan pushes Gotti off and scrambles back to his feet.
Ryan shoots in and drives through. Gotti sprawls well.
Ryan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gotti.
Nice takedown defense from Gotti. No joy for Ryan on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Ryan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ryan throws a head kick that misses
and Gotti counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Daniel Ryan has been cut.
Gotti tries to bum rush Ryan with a series of wild strikes but Ryan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A punch lands to the side of Gotti 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gotti pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ryan is out of range and Gotti settles back down.
Gotti fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ryan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gotti did well to prevent Ryan getting side control.
Ryan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Well, if Ryan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ryan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ryan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gotti does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ryan stops Gotti from getting back to his feet.
Ryan drops an elbow to the side of Gotti's head.

Ryan is looking for a kimura here.

Ryan wants to work for an arm triangle but Gotti is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ryan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ryan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gotti does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ryan seems to be looking for submissions.
Gotti blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ryan.

Ryan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Ryan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gotti defends it well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gotti misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gotti tries a head kick but it misses.
Ryan shoots in but Gotti avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gotti slips under a jab.
Gotti throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ryan.
Ryan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gotti throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Ryan shoots in but no luck this time.
Gotti defending well as Ryan loads up on a big left hand.
Ryan misses with an uppercut.

Ryan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jimmy Gotti is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gotti moves out of range as Ryan strikes.
Gotti looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ryan misses with an uppercut
and Gotti counters with a two punch combo.
Ryan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Ryan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gotti sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ryan somewhat.
Ryan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gotti uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ryan.
Gotti moves away from the strike by Ryan.
Gotti throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ryan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gotti pushes Ryan off looking to stand but Ryan dives back in and keeps control.

Gotti wants to get back to full guard.

Ryan is trying for a kimura here. Gotti looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ryan wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Daniel Ryan!
A less than humble Daniel Ryan misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
