Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Kolpakov.
A slow jab from Kolpakov misses its intended target.
Kolpakov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kolpakov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matumba was well out of range. Poor timing from Kolpakov.
Matumba avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kolpakov tries to land a front kick but Matumba steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Matumba bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kolpakov fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Matumba checks it well.
Kolpakov takes one to the side of the head.
Kolpakov throws an overhand right that lands on Matumba's shoulder, as Matumba tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kolpakov wants to clinch.
Matumba stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kolpakov.

Kolpakov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Matumba manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nikolai Kolpakov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matumba takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
No joy there for Matumba, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kolpakov slips a jab and a cross from Matumba.
Kolpakov throws a good cross that connects.

Nikolai Kolpakov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kolpakov misses with a hook to the body
enabling Matumba to counter with a crisp jab.
Kolpakov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kolpakov takes a swing at Matumba's ribcage but misses.
Kolpakov misses with a looping right.
Matumba is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

and Matumba counters with a left and a right that stings Kolpakov.
Matumba takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kolpakov throws a hook but Matumba blocks it.
Kolpakov lands a nice looking kick to the body. Matumba takes a step back to recover.
Kolpakov misses with an uppercut
letting Matumba counter with a right hand.
Kolpakov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Matumba moves away.
Kolpakov misses with a double jab
and Matumba cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Matumba sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kolpakov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Matumba gets tackled into the cage by Kolpakov. Kolpakov maintains the clinch.
Matumba is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kolpakov pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Matumba turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Matumba manages to end up in side control.

Matumba working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kolpakov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Matumba has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kolpakov can't do much from the bottom here.
Kolpakov parries the strikes from Matumba easily there. Matumba is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kolpakov to escape.

Matumba is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kolpakov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matumba tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Matumba tries for a kimura but Kolpakov is defending well.
Kolpakov tries to improve position but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nikolai Kolpakov will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Matumba circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kolpakov looks to land a body kick but Matumba moved away.
Kolpakov moves into the clinch.
Matumba lands a takedown into guard.
Matumba thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Matumba cracks Kolpakov with a solid left hand.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Matumba drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kolpakov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Matumba has Kolpakov in his guard.

Matumba looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kolpakov is one step ahead there.
Matumba is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kolpakov is aware though and is defending well.

Matumba is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kolpakov rolls with it to try and escape but Matumba cranks on the arm and Kolpakov is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
