Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between SJ Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nate Coleman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, SJ Mitchell !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman moves out of range of the strikes.
Mitchell shoots for a takedown but Coleman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mitchell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mitchell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Coleman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Mitchell throws an off balance right hand
and Coleman counters with a nice body shot.
Mitchell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Coleman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mitchell quickly recovers to half guard.
Coleman prevents Mitchell from standing back up.
Coleman wants to take a breather but Mitchell is having none of it.
Mitchell has hold of Coleman's hands but Coleman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Mitchell pushes Coleman off looking to stand but Coleman dives back in and keeps control.
Coleman lands strikes from half guard.

Coleman stops Mitchell from getting back to his feet.

Coleman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mitchell has one foot on Coleman's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Coleman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mitchell 's waist but Mitchell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Coleman off to one side.
Mitchell throws out a loose jab but Coleman uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mitchell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Coleman counters with a big head kick but Mitchell shrugs it off.
SJ Mitchell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mitchell is defended easily by Coleman.
Mitchell throws a hook but Coleman avoids it easily.
Coleman tries to clinch up.
Mitchell cracks Coleman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Mitchell throws a hook to the side of Coleman's head but Coleman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Coleman leaves Mitchell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Coleman darts in and clinches Mitchell up against the cage.

Coleman wants to stand and escape but Mitchell is having none of it.
Mitchell looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Coleman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mitchell won't allow Coleman to get back to his feet.

Mitchell keeping moving, preventing Coleman from controlling successfully.
Coleman throws a strike but Mitchell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mitchell prevents Coleman from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A close round but Nate Coleman will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mitchell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Coleman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mitchell 's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mitchell is looking to stand up but Coleman isn't so interested in that idea.

Mitchell is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Coleman presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Mitchell jumps guard but Coleman stands there with Mitchell around his waist. Mitchell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Coleman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Mitchell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coleman tries to avoid it but Mitchell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coleman to the ground. Coleman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Coleman drops his hands momentarily and Mitchell takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Mitchell throws a big shot that misses.
Mitchell swings widly with a right hand

and Coleman counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Mitchell !

Mitchell is looking to escape.
Oh Mitchell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Coleman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mitchell is just riding it out for now. Coleman eventually gives up the hold.
Coleman scores with a big shot! Mitchell 's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Mitchell ! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Coleman!
