Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daisuke Takemura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones jabs at Takemura's body.
Jones throws a shot to the body.
Takemura slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Takemura slips the punch.
Takemura keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones.
Takemura misses with a hook
letting Jones counter with a right hand.
Jones bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takemura's head backwards.

Takemura scores with a takedown into Jones's guard.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Takemura cracks Jones with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takemura looking to pass the guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Takemura won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takemura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Takemura accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Takemura keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.

Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Takemura is one step ahead there.
Takemura is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Takemura manages to get himself to full guard.

Takemura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Takemura avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Takemura lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Takemura motions for Jones to come forward. Takemura throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Takemura drops his hands momentarily and Jones takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jones misses with a wild combination.
Takemura shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Takemura.
Takemura fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Takemura on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jones lands a nice looking body shot.

Jones throws a shot from downtown. Takemura moves away and avoids it.
Takemura seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Jones throws a good cross that connects.
Jones scores with a sloppy right hand. Takemura should have avoided that one.
Jones lands a glancing blow to the side of Takemura's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Takemura uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.
Takemura just misses with a punch to the body.
Takemura closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daisuke Takemura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Takemura takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Takemura throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Jones looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
A big left from Jones misses.
Jones scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Takemura has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Takemura's head.
Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Takemura showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
Takemura throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick by Takemura misses
letting Jones counter with a right hand.
Takemura goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takemura moves away.
Takemura changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Takemura manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Takemura shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jones has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Jones avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Jon Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones throws a combination. Takemura tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jones bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Takemura's head but Takemura sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Takemura takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Takemura shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Takemura takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A lazy left from Jones finds it's target.


Takemura is rocked!
Takemura is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Oh Takemura is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice uppercut lands for Jones. That snapped Takemura's head back.
BOOM! Jones lands a beautiful left hook that drops Takemura. Takemura tries to recover but Jones is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Takemura lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Jones!
After winning the bout, Jon Jones thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Daisuke Takemura stepped up to the mic, saying 'Team Goroshi - Kore Fight Nutrition - Euolocao'.
