Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Commander Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Carlyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tired and clearly flustered, he entered the arena late and after a little discussion it was decided that the bout should take place.
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Commander Shepard and Charles Carlyle. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Charles Carlyle!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepard lands a nice looking kick to the body. Carlyle takes a step back to recover.

Carlyle feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Shepards jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Carlyle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shepard as he avoids it easily.
Carlyle wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Carlyle has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Carlyle's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shepard connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Carlyle scrambles back to his feet.

Carlyle thuds his right hand into Shepard's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sloppy strikes from Carlyle. Those never looked like landing.
Carlyle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shepard circles away quickly and effectively.
Carlyle doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shepard makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Well Carlyle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
