Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Sebastian Scrooge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Smith!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scrooge scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.
Scrooge takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.

Scrooge looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Scrooge is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Scrooge stops Smith from getting back to his feet.
Scrooge takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Smith is trying to stand up here but Scrooge is controlling him well.
Scrooge trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
Scrooge is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Scrooge.

Scrooge fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Scrooge misses with a straight left.
Scrooge takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Smith scores with a head kick. Scrooge tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
A punch lands to the side of Smith 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Smith defending well as Scrooge loads up on a big left hand.
A cross from Scrooge lands.
Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Scrooge manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Scrooge connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scrooge scores with a sloppy right hand. Smith should have avoided that one.

Smith clinches.
Scrooge tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smith smiles and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scrooge lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Smith slips under a jab.
Scrooge avoids the head kick by Smith.
Scrooge connects with a body shot that sends Smith's belly button to the back.

Smith closes the distance and clinches.
I was talking to Scrooge's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Scrooge fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sebastian Scrooge. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith looking to throw knees to the head but Scrooge is blocking nicely.
Scrooge tries to pull guard but Smith won't allow it.
Smith throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Scrooge blocks it with crossed arms.
Smith with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Scrooge fails to pull guard.
Smith connects with a knee to the head.
Smith misses with a knee strike.
Scrooge is trying to pull guard but Smith has him pressed against the cage.
Scrooge has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Scrooge takes an elbow to the forehead.
Scrooge tries to pull guard but Smith forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Scrooge has a couple of punches blocked by Smith.

Scrooge tries to pull guard but Smith won't allow it.

Scrooge works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Smith is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Scrooge from controlling successfully.
Scrooge won't allow Smith to get back to his feet.
Scrooge trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Scrooge won't allow Smith to get back to his feet.
Scrooge trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Scrooge is controlling him.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Scrooge gets the takedown into side control.
Scrooge scoring with punches and elbows.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scrooge. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Scrooge trying to control the position but Smith is working away.
Smith wants to get back to his feet but Scrooge drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scrooge wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sebastian Scrooge dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Scrooge throws a hook but Smith avoids it easily.
Smith on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Smith lands a brutal head kick. Scrooge looks out on his feet and Smith throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Matt Smith!
Matt Smith seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
