Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hughtavious Mingo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Saintly Fish!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fish takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mingo throws a series of strikes that have Fish backpedaling.
Mingo leaves Fish with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fish.
Mingo shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Fish eats them both and turns towards Mingo to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Mingo scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Mingo misses with a wild combination.
Fish takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mingo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fish shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mingo as he avoids it easily.
Hughtavious Mingo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saintly Fish.
Mingo lands a nice hook to Fish's body. Fish takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fish shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mingo as he jumps to the side.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mingo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fish.

Fish gets a double leg takedown into Mingo's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fish is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mingo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mingo tries to get out of the position.
Fish throwing strikes from guard but Mingo blocks nicely.
Mingo can't keep his opponent in guard - Fish advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Fish is trying to work for a kimura but Mingo is defending well.
Mingo is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fish is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mingo is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Saintly Fish!
