The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maiz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Becker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maiz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Maiz has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Becker. Oh but Maiz has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Becker goes limp - he's gone! Maiz jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Josh Maiz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
