PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jima Jamm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Black Belt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamm throws a one two combo.
Belt takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Belt needs to keep his hands up - Jamm had a free shot at his head there.
Jamm misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Belt moves out of range of the leg kick from Jamm.
A jab lands there for Jamm.
Belt takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

A solid leg kick lands there for Jamm.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jamm enables Belt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jamm manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jamm can't keep his opponent in guard - Belt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Belt is nestled in close to Jamm, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jamm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Belt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Belt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Belt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jamm.
Belt misses with a takedown attempt - Jamm sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jima Jamm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jamm throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Belt.

Belt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jamm tries to close the distance and clinch but Belt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jamm swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jamm is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Belt can do to turn this around?

Jamm fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Belt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jamm throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Belt sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Belt has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jamm uses from the top position.

Belt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Belt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jamm after a bit of a struggle.

Jamm drops Belt with a big knee straight up the middle! Belt is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
