The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Viulu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Peltola shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Peltola showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Peltola uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Viulu.

and Peltola counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Peltola has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

Peltola swings around for an armbar but Viulu sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Peltola's guard.
Viulu wants to get up but he can't break Peltola's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Viulu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Peltola has his foot on Viulu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Viulu works his way back into a safe position though.

Peltola rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Viulu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Viulu wants to clinch up but Peltola keeps it at a distance.

Viulu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Viulu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Peltola manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Peltola has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Viulu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Peltola looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Peltola swings for the body but Viulu moves out of range.
Peltola shoots in looking for a takedown. Viulu tries to sprawl out of it but Peltola keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Viulu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Viulu creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Peltola with a big uppercut! Peltola tries to clinch up but Viulu pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Peltola to the mat! Peltola covers up and Viulu unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
