Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Duddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Lockyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duddy comes to the cage accompanied by Dropkick Murphys - 'Loyal to No One'. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Duddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Lockyer!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duddy moves out of range as Lockyer throws a body kick.
Duddy on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Duddy blocks a jab.
Lockyer fails to land with a series of punches.
Lockyer moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


It looks like John Duddy has been cut.
Lockyer takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

We've been informed that Lockyer has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Duddy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lockyer.
Duddy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Duddy closes the distance and clinches.
A short right from Lockyer on the inside.
Duddy is trying to drag Lockyer to the mat but Lockyer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Duddy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lockyer wants to stand and escape but Duddy is having none of it.

Lockyer wants to get back to his feet but Duddy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Duddy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lockyer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lockyer has escaped and now he's on top!

Still in the clinch, Lockyer scores with a nice short uppercut.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lockyer wants to get up but he can't break Duddy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Darren Lockyer decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
