Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Waldo Claudiano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Rison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waldo Claudiano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Waldo Claudiano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kendall Rison!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Claudiano doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rison counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rison passes to full mount!
Claudiano is trying desperately to improve position.
Claudiano looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Can Claudiano hold on?! Rison is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rison biding his time, looking for the opening.

Rison's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Claudiano looking very determined here, making life difficult for Rison.
Rison keeps control of the position easily here as Claudiano tries to buck him off.

Rison is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Claudiano has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Claudiano breaks Rison's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Rison thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Rison controlling the position.
Rison doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Rison pulls Claudiano in to control the position.
Rison lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rison advances to half guard.
Claudiano might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rison wants to pass to mount but Claudiano is defending the position.
Claudiano is looking to escape.

Rison is looking to advance position but Claudiano won't allow it.
Rison is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Claudiano is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Claudiano wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Rison is riding his opponent, not letting Claudiano buck him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Rison shoots in and bounces Claudiano off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rison jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Claudiano manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Claudiano takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Rison thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Rison cracks Claudiano with a big right hand but Claudiano just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rison moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rison trying to control the action but Claudiano is working from the bottom.

Rison is putting a hurting on Claudiano here, landing some big shots from side control.

Claudiano is trying to work for a sweep but Rison has mounted him!
Claudiano is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Claudiano tries to lock up and control but Rison gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kendall Rison has got the better of the ground game so far.
Claudiano is trying to escape the mount.
Rison controlling from the full mount.
Rison lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Claudiano hang on?

Rison looking to control and managing it successfully.
Rison trying to control but Claudiano is having none of it.
Claudiano could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Claudiano wants to control but Rison is having none of it.

Claudiano wants to hold on but Rison pushes him away.

Kendall Rison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Rison shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rison has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rison is trying to control. Claudiano wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ground and pound from Rison.
Rison slows the pace down in half guard.
Rison slips a nice elbow through Claudiano's hands, connecting with Claudiano's forehead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

More stalling from Rison.

Claudiano tries to roll over but Rison keeps him under control.
Rison controlling the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rison avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rison tries to close the distance and clinch up but Claudiano swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rison clinches.

Claudiano's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Claudiano shoots in for a takedown but Rison shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Claudiano wants to stand up but Rison is controlling him.
Rison's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Rison forces his way into half guard.
Rison tries to pass to full mount but Claudiano defends it.
Rison looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Claudiano with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rison perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rison passes to full mount!

Claudiano is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Well Rison has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
