Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cranky Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dux has chosen Lose My Mind as his entrance music. John Dux will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cranky Mark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Dux!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mark throws a quick inside leg kick.
Dux checks the leg kick.
Mark throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dux lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like Cranky Mark has been cut.
Mark cracks the inside of Dux's front leg.
Mark misses with a leg kick

and Dux counters by moving into the clinch.

Mark breaks the clinch.
Mark has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Araba Fenice in the buildup to the fight.
Mark takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mark tries to land a front kick but Dux steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dux takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mark misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dux checks a leg kick.
Dux misses with the combination.

Mark tries to score with a low kick but Dux moves his leg out of the way.
Mark throws a low kick but Dux moves out of range easily.
Good leg kick by Mark there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Cranky Mark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dux throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Mark lands with a nice body kick.
Mark looks to land a body kick but Dux moved away.
Dux throws out a loose jab but Mark uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dux keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Mark connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Mark walks into a left hand.
Dux tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Dux throws a shot from downtown. Mark moves away and avoids it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dux tries to move into range but Mark moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Mark swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dux fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dux scores with a punch to the head.

Mark gets a takedown into half guard.
Dux wants to get back to his feet.

Mark passes to full mount!

Dux tries to lock up and control but Mark gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mark takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dux is trying to escape the mount.

Mark thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mark breaks from Dux's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Mark looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mark has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dux's face.
Dux takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dux looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
Mark putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Mark throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dux has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Dux throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Mark keeps Dux at a distance using the push kick.
Cranky Mark is winning the standup battle so far.
Mark uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dux.
A clash of legs there as Dux blocks the low kick.
Dux missing with a left hand there. Mark was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Dux takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Mark feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dux's calf.

Mark is trying to pull guard but Dux turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Mark finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Mark loads up on a big right hand but Dux slips the punch.

Dux throws a body shot but no joy.
Mark takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dux is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mark wants to slow Dux down by chopping away at his legs.

Dux throws the left hand but Mark avoids the punch easily.
Mark is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dux can do to turn this around?

Mark buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mark misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dux blocks a head kick by Mark.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mark.
Mark throws a push kick but Dux slaps the foot to one side.
Mark finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dux moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Dux throws a looping overhand right but Mark ducks down to avoid it.

Dux's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Mark fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Dux is out of range.

Dux misses with a wild body shot.
A bone on bone clash there as Dux blocks the leg kick.
Mark misses with a low kick.
Dux swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dux throws a head kick that misses.
John Dux has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mark thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dux if he has to take too many more of those.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dux. Mark does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mark throws a head kick but Dux moves out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Mark. That snapped Dux's head back.
Mark throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Mark tried to score with a low kick but Dux checks it.

Dux lands with a hook. Mark tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Dux throws a right and a left that Mark avoids nicely.
Cranky Mark is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mark tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dux moves out of range of the body kick.
Dux walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mark checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dux takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dux lands a jab to the head.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Mark.
Dux throws an off balance right hand

and Mark counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mark.
Mark might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dux keeping moving, preventing Mark from controlling successfully.
Mark lands a couple of elbows.

Mark wants to pass the guard but Dux is keeping the position.
Mark passes Dux's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Cranky Mark showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mark, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
