Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Erschov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Yurkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexei Erschov had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitri Yurkov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erschov feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Yurkov's calf.
Erschov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yurkov swivels and escapes.

Yurkov shoots in and gets a takedown into Erschov's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yurkov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've been hearing good reports from Erschov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Erschov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Yurkov pulls his head out easily.

My spies in Warrior MMA and Fitness inform me that Yurkov has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
