Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pluto Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simeon Malaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palhares comes into the arena with TOQUINHO blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pluto Palhares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Simeon Malaya!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malaya throws a low kick but it's checked well by Palhares.
Malaya looks to throw the jab but Palhares is out of range.

Palhares is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Palhares accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malaya pulls Palhares in close to his closed guard and prevents Palhares from doing any damage or advancing position.

Palhares seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
