The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killer fails in his attempt to clinch.

I was talking to Yamato's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Killer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Yamato backwards.
Yamato can't find room to land a body shot as Killer controls the action.

Yamato breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Yamato's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Killer tries to close the distance and clinch but Yamato swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Killer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Killer scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Yamato beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yamato lands a head kick. Killer smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Killer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Yamato is looking to counter punch.

Both fighters circling a little - Yamato finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Yamato gets tackled into the ropes by Killer. Killer maintains the clinch.

Nice body punch from Killer - that landed with a thud.
Yamato has a couple of punches blocked by Killer.

Killer's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
With the fighters up against the ropes, Killer throws an elbow but misses.

Yamato pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Killer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Yamato misses with a shot to the body
and Yamato takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Yamato pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Killer moves in looking to clinch but Yamato pushes him off.
Yamato thinks about countering with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Killer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yamato tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Killer was well out of range. Poor timing from Yamato.

Killer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yamato goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

and Yamato counters with a low kick, right behind Killer 's knee.
Killer walks into a perfectly timed head kick by Yamato and drops face first to the floor! Killer's eyes are wide open but he's not all there - he's just flopping around the mat like a drunk on rollerskates! The referee doesn't even start the count - he's called an end to the fight, with Killer in no position to continue!
