PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jose Cronos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cronos's entrance music is Sandstorm. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Cronos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walter White!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cronos misses with a two punch combination.
Cronos digs a good hook to White's body.
Cronos goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Cronos lands with a shot to the body.
White takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cronos lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
White shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cronos sprawls well. Cronos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. White gets slowly back to his feet.
Cronos lands with a hook. White tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cronos jabs White to the body, keeping him at a distance.
White fails with a takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
White moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
White walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

White shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cronos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Cronos regains half guard.

White is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
White seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cronos manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Cronos is controlling White's posture.
White wants to control from the top but Cronos keeps moving.
White postures up.
Cronos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in White's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Cronos trying to control but White is working from the bottom.
Cronos controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cronos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
White keeping moving, preventing Cronos from controlling successfully.
Cronos advances position into side control!
White is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cronos has just dragged him back down to the mat.
White is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
White is looking to regain half guard here but Cronos keeps moving and retains side control.

Cronos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cronos trying to control the action but White is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cronos content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
White is trying to control Cronos's posture but Cronos avoids it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cronos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cronos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
White being controlled for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jose Cronos dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Cronos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from White.
Jose Cronos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cronos throws a right hand that White ducks under and follows up with a left that White also avoids with ease.
White tries to clinch up
and Cronos counters with a nice body shot.
White takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
White takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cronos lands with a right hand.
No luck with that takedown attempt from White.
White shoots in but Cronos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jose Cronos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter White.

Cronos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
White looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cronos is fending him off so far but White persists. Nope, Cronos circles away and we're back to standing.
Cronos seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Cronos is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Cronos's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cronos duly obliges.
A good leg kick by Cronos.
Cronos throws a good cross that connects.
White takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
White throws a body punch but Cronos moves out of range.
Cronos connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
White misses with a takedown
and Cronos counters with a straight right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
White misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cronos scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. White doesn't seem bothered though.
Cronos connects with a looping right hand.

Cronos drops White with a beautiful combination! White stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cronos is looking for the KO!

Cronos lands a nice looking body shot.
White misses with a combination

and Cronos counters with a crisp right hand that drops White! Cronos lets White back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
White doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cronos counters with a huge left! White is in big trouble! He's backing up but Cronos isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save White from any more damage. A dominating finish by Cronos!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jose Cronos!
Jose Cronos very nearly forgot to thank Fury Nutrition Inc. amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
