Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vangelis Kokkalis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deidara Zetsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kokkalis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Promises - Nero ft. Skrillex. Zetsu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Make Me. Vangelis Kokkalis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deidara Zetsu!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zetsu keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Zetsu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kokkalis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Zetsu misses with a straight left.
A lazy body kick from Kokkalis
and Zetsu counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kokkalis throws out a leg kick but Zetsu moves out of range and Kokkalis only half commits.
Zetsu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kokkalis.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kokkalis. Zetsu does a little dance to reset his feet.
A thudding body kick lands there by Kokkalis!
Kokkalis throws a nice looking combination but Zetsu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kokkalis throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Zetsu takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kokkalis cracks Zetsu with an open hand slap.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zetsu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Zetsu lands with a kick to the temple. Kokkalis shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Zetsu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Kokkalis thumps Zetsu with a low kick.

and Kokkalis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Zetsu told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Zetsu wants to get back to full guard.
Kokkalis has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Zetsu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kokkalis is working away from the top position though.
Zetsu is not content to let Kokkalis control the position.
Kokkalis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zetsu's head.
Kokkalis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Kokkalis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kokkalis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Zetsu has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kokkalis.
Zetsu attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Kokkalis feinted with a counter takedown.
Kokkalis takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Kokkalis.

Zetsu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kokkalis swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Kokkalis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zetsu moves away.

It looks like Deidara Zetsu has been cut.
Zetsu takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kokkalis connects with a solid leg kick.
Kokkalis takes a swing at Zetsu's ribcage but misses.
Kokkalis throws a hook but Zetsu avoids it easily.
Deidara Zetsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kokkalis finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kokkalis misses with a body kick.
Zetsu throws the left hand but Kokkalis avoids the punch easily.

Zetsu on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kokkalis just misses with a punch to the body.
Zetsu tries to counter with a clinch but Kokkalis shakes him off and moves away.
Kokkalis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Zetsu throws a fast counter high kick but Kokkalis manages to duck under it in time.

and Kokkalis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kokkalis scores with a push kick.
Zetsu misses with a head kick.
Zetsu's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Kokkalis lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Zetsu doesn't manage to clinch there - Kokkalis circles away.
Kokkalis appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Kokkalis fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kokkalis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kokkalis drops Zetsu with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Zetsu looks back up at him and smiles so Kokkalis waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Zetsu is rocked!

That has opened up Deidara Zetsu's cut even more.
Kokkalis throws an uppercut from hell that sends Zetsu clean off his feet! He's out cold! Kokkalis stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
