Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kylma Jaak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen Linkin Park - In the End as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kylma Jaak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JJ Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jaak quickly recovers to half guard.
Jaak is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jaak is just riding it out for now. Thomas eventually gives up the hold.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jaak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thomas is working away from the top position though.

Thomas is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jaak has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jaak!

Thomas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jaak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jaak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Thomas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jaak manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Thomas passes into half guard.
Thomas is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Thomas wants to advance to full mount but Jaak doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Thomas throws a good cross that connects.
Jaak lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jaak is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Thomas.
Jaak throws a head kick but Thomas moves out of range.
Thomas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Thomas showed some decent athleticism there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thomas is looking to take a break and control but Jaak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jaak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Thomas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jaak wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
