Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Lamond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Gordon Lamond enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordon Lamond!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva feints and then cracks Lamond's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lamond down.
Lamond sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Silva looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Silva tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Lamond wants to counter with a clinch but Silva pushes him away.
Silva throws a solid leg kick but Lamond takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Silva.

Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Silva trying to control but Lamond is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lamond working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Silva.
Silva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lamond keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nice takedown defense from Lamond. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Lamond, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Lamond against the cage but Lamond circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lamond to the ground. Silva is now in Lamond's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lamond swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lamond is trying to keep Silva in close.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Silva drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Silva seems to have locked his on tight now - Lamond screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Silva, as he picks up the win!
