Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Astico chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Armstrong can pounce on him.
We've been informed that Armstrong has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Astico has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Astico there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Armstrong, right into the meat.
Astico is trying hard to land a takedown here. Armstrong sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Armstrong stuffs the takedown.
Astico pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Astico tries to close the distance and clinch but Armstrong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Armstrong scores with a kick to the midsection.
Armstrong throws a nice outside leg kick.
Armstrong looks to land a body kick but Astico moved away.
As Armstrong looks to move away, Astico throws a big counter combo bu Armstrong just gets out of the way.
Astico will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Astico. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Armstrong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Astico shoots and misses
enabling Armstrong to counter with a crisp jab.
Jay Armstrong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab lands there for Armstrong.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Astico throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Despite the aggression on Armstrong's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Astico on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Armstrong is looking to slow Astico down with leg kicks.
Armstrong lands with a kick to the temple. Astico shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Carlos Astico has been cut.
Armstrong goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Astico tries to clinch but Armstrong is having none of it.
Armstrong connects with a leg kick. Astico looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Armstrong, right into the meat.
Astico shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong shows good takedown defense.
A left lands for Armstrong.

Astico is rocked!
Armstrong feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Astico's calf.
Astico fails with a takedown attempt.
Armstrong lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Armstrong connects with a high kick.
Oh Astico is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Astico is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Armstrong moves into the clinch.
Astico seems to have got his legs back now.

Armstrong breaks the clinch.
Armstrong dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Astico. That did some damage!
Armstrong connects with a right hand. Astico shakes it off.
Armstrong thuds his shin into the meat of Astico's side.
Armstrong keeps Astico at a distance using the push kick.
Astico is breathing heavily.
Armstrong avoids the body shot from Astico.
Astico on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Armstrong circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Astico drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Armstrong follows Astico to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
