PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baha Beison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Anthony Pettis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Anthony Pettis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anthony Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Baha Beison!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beison uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pettis.
Pettis scores with a sloppy right hand. Beison should have avoided that one.

Beison clinches up with Pettis and pushes him back against the cage.
Beison is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pettis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Beison wants a takedown.
Beison has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pettis after a bit of a struggle.
Anthony Pettis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Baha Beison.

Pettis manages to break the clinch.

Despite the aggression on Beison's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Beison darts in looking for a takedown but Pettis gets double underhooks and turns Beison into the cage.
Beison dives in for a single leg takedown but Pettis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Beison is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pettis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pettis has escaped and now he's on top!

Post fight, an emotional Anthony Pettis said 'This was the most important fight of my career and after i was KO'ed in my first fight for the org I'm now near the top and i want my shot!'.
Baha Beison was interviewed post fight and said 'Я приду еще сильнее '.
