The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nak misses with a takedown attempt
and OConnell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
OConnell misses the jab.
OConnell has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brown House in the buildup to the fight.

OConnell was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Nak stalks OConnell and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into OConnell's face. OConnell staggers backwards, shaken.

and OConnell counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

After the fight, Paul OConnell was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
