The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Berg wants to stand but Smith is controlling the position.
Berg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berg looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Smith puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Smith wants to stand but Berg has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Berg won't allow Smith to pass to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Berg manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Smith decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Smith tries to clinch up but Berg circles away and keeps his distance.

Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Berg's guard.
Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Berg wants to get back to his feet but Smith passes into half guard.

Smith wants to work for an arm triangle but Berg is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Berg is desperately trying to improve his position but Smith has a good base and remains in mount.
Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Berg keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Smith wants to control the pace but Berg is squirming around nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Berg bucks Smith off and manages to get back to his feet!

Jake Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smith working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Berg slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Berg wants to improve his position but Smith is controlling well.

Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Berg tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.

Jake Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
