Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Brutality (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Pick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Ultimate Brutality!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Pick!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pick fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Brutality will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Brutality jumps guard but Pick turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Brutality is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Pick is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ultimate Brutality. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brutality pulls Pick into guard.

Brutality working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Pick has passed into half guard!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brutality is refusing to be controlled, as Pick sits in half guard.
Brutality is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Soul Supremacy - UK, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Brutality manages to get to full guard.
Pick wants to stand and escape but instead Brutality has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Brutality tries to free his leg and advance position but Pick is retaining full guard.

Brutality trying to control the position from guard on top but Pick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brutality preventing the sweep.
Pick can't keep his opponent in guard - Brutality advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Brutality wants to work for an arm triangle but Pick is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Brutality is trying to work for a kimura but Pick is defending well.

Brutality is trying to control the action in half guard but Pick is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Pick is positioning himself well to prevent Brutality advancing to mount.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brutality uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pick.
Brutality wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Brutality shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Brutality is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pick to keep the fight standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brutality tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pick smiles and moves away.
Brutality avoids the body shot from Pick.
Brutality gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pick cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pick misses with a hook.
Brutality takes one to the side of the head.
Brutality closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pick circles away.

Brutality has closed the distance and engaged Pick in a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pick lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Brutality is working for takedown but Pick is calmly controlling the position for now.
Pick tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice takedown defense from Pick. No joy for Brutality on that attempt.
Brutality fails with a takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Pick's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brutality.

Brutality tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Pick lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Brutality backwards.
Pick's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Pick is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Brutality is looking for a sweep. Pick is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Pick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brutality trying to hold on to Pick's head to control him but Pick postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Pick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brutality paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Steve Pick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pick looks to throw the jab but Brutality is out of range.
Pick throws a poor cross that misses
and Brutality cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brutality fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pick avoids it really well and circles away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Pick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pick looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Brutality with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pick to score with a decent uppercut.
Pick throws a wild body kick that Brutality sees coming a mile off.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brutality.

Pick gets caught flat footed, as Brutality shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Brutality wants to control from the top but Pick keeps moving.

Pick manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brutality manages to get himself to full guard.

Brutality pulls Pick in close to his closed guard and prevents Pick from doing any damage or advancing position.
Pick controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brutality is on top in guard.

Brutality pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pick is keeping the position for now.
Pick managing to control the position.

Brutality looking to pass the guard.
Brutality trying to control the position from guard on top but Pick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Brutality looking to sit in guard and control but Pick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Pick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
