Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer has chosen Sans Pression - Numero 1 as his entrance music. The key to victory for Sam Rogers has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Rogers finds it's way through Palmer's defenses.
Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown but Palmer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rogers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Rogers gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Palmer is just riding it out for now. Rogers eventually gives up the hold.
Palmer is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers is looking for a kimura here.
Rogers uses his free foot to push down on Palmer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Palmer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing that Rogers has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Rogers unloads with some shots from mount but Palmer bucks and avoids them well.

Palmer is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
BOOM! Rogers connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Palmer is desperately trying to improve his position but Rogers has a good base and remains in mount.

Rogers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rogers has control of Palmer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Palmer regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Rogers is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Palmer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Rogers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Palmer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Palmer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rogers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Palmer can do to turn this around?

Palmer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rogers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Palmer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Palmer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rogers manages to get himself to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Palmer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Palmer sprawls well. Palmer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet.

Palmer throws a lazy right hand but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Palmer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogers but Rogers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Palmer stuffs the takedown.
Palmer changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rogers is defended easily by Palmer.

Palmer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rogers misses with a takedown attempt - Palmer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Palmer missing with a left hand there. Rogers was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rogers jabs Palmer right on the nose. Palmer blinks but takes it well.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown but Palmer shows good takedown defense.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Palmer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rogers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Palmer defends it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rogers is looking to stall here but Palmer recovers full guard.

Palmer wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rogers.

Palmer shoots for a takedown but Rogers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rogers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Palmer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rogers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Palmer is not content to let Rogers control the position.

Rogers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Palmer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Rogers is looking to take a break and control but Palmer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sam Rogers decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, George Palmer stepped up to the mic, saying 'Great job Sam. It's my pleasure to fight with you and you show that you are a better fighter tonight. I have nothing to say but congratulate you for the win!'.
