Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niten Dōraku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Thin Lizzy - Angel of Death. Dōraku comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ides Of Light - Jucifer kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leandro Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Niten Dōraku!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves swings for the body but Dōraku moves out of range.
Dōraku fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alves manages to avoid it.
Alves blocks a jab.
Alves keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Dōraku fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Alves drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alves with a flurry of punches that miss.

Dōraku is looking for a triangle but Alves pushes his legs off easily.
Alves keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dōraku's head.
Dōraku keeping full guard, as Alves tries to pass.
Alves postures up and lands a big shot to Dōraku's brow.

Alves avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alves throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dōraku works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dōraku keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully.
Alves lands a couple of elbows.
Alves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Alves wants to pass the guard but Dōraku is keeping the position.
Dōraku looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing that Alves has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Dōraku is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Alves is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Alves has escaped and now he's on top!

Dōraku wants to get back to his feet but Alves is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dōraku wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Dōraku has control of Alves's left arm, preventing Alves from doing any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dōraku stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Alves.
Alves throws a nice looking combination but Dōraku bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Alves throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dōraku tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alves is in Dōraku's guard.
Dōraku is trying to keep Alves in close.

Alves got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dōraku has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alves has managed to get both his arms back between Dōraku's legs - danger averted.

Alves fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dōraku takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Alves lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dōraku has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dōraku and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Alves dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alves throws a lazy right hand but Dōraku sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dōraku checks a leg kick.
Dōraku cracks Alves with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dōraku fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Alves.
Alves lands a right hook to the body.
Dōraku connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Alves's hands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alves misses with a body shot.
Alves swats away the attempt to clinch by Dōraku.
Alves fails with a takedown attempt.

Alves trying to stall but Dōraku improves his position.
Dōraku is trying to pull guard but Alves turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Dōraku tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Dōraku breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alves is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dōraku can do to turn this around?

Dōraku dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alves. That did some damage!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Alves connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dōraku. Dōraku circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Dōraku takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dōraku keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Alves is stalling here. Dōraku is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Alves seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dōraku has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Dōraku pushes a forearm under Alves's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Alves is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Niten Dōraku!
Niten Dōraku decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Leandro Alves spoke after the fight, saying '#@@&^%$!!!'.
