Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Saleem Al Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Glen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Glen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Saleem Al Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Glen!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Khan throws a series of punches but Glen moves out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Glen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Al Khan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Al Khan wants to work for an arm triangle but Glen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Glen looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al Khan is pressing down on Glen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Glen is holding on for now.
Glen wants to control but Al Khan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Al Khan trying to control the action but Glen is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Al Khan trying to pass the guard but Glen defending well.
Glen tries to roll over but Al Khan keeps him under control.
Al Khan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Glen flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Al Khan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Glen wants to get back to his feet.
Al Khan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Al Khan wants to free his trapped foot but Glen is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Al Khan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Glen's head.
Glen is looking for a sweep. Al Khan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Glen trying to hold on to Al Khan's head to control him but Al Khan postures up.

Al Khan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Glen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Al Khan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Al Khan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Glen looks winded!
Al Khan lands a couple of good shots and Glen has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Al Khan is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Glen is defending well though. Al Khan let's go of the attempt for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al Khan keeps control of the position as Glen tries to break free.
Al Khan tries to keep control of the position but Glen is staying busy.

Al Khan looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Al Khan lands shots from the back.

Al Khan has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Glen has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Glen rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Al Khan is keen to just control but Glen is a slippery customer.
Al Khan passes to full mount!

Al Khan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Glen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Al Khan scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Glen?
Al Khan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Glen is rocked!
Al Khan looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Glen covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Saleem Al Khan!
