Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonatan Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karukef Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kingston has chosen Basshunter- DotA as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonatan Jose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karukef Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingston moves away from the strike by Jose.
Kingston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jose moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kingston goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Jose half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Kingston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jose ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jose takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Jose bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jose creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kingston sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Jose misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Kingston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jose. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jose is looking to take a break and control but Kingston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jose lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

My spies in Tokyo Totally Gym + Sauna inform me that Kingston has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Jose has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Karukef Kingston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
