PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Teddington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Kalimba. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox misses with a head kick.
Teddington takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Teddington is trying to drag Fox to the mat but Fox just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Fox tries to land a knee to the head but Teddington blocks with his arms.
Teddington is looking to control Fox's arms but Fox gets an underhook and turns him. Now Teddington has his back to the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Teddington seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks.
Fox tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Fox is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Teddington can't fight it off and eventually Fox manages to take the fight to the floor. Teddington looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Teddington is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fox defends well.

Our spies down at at Soul Supremacy - UK inform us that Teddington has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Teddington is looking to stand up but Fox isn't so interested in that idea.

Fox has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Teddington is trying to keep an underhook but Fox manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fox throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Fox moves into the clinch successfully.
Fox is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Fox lands a damaging elbow.

Teddington breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fox throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Teddington's head.
Fox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fox buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fox changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Teddington tries to avoid it but Fox manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Teddington to the ground. Teddington escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And Teddington tries to counter it with a takedown but Fox pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Teddington shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fox manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Teddington is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Fox looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Fox has his foot on Teddington's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Teddington works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Teddington is pushing down on Fox's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fox is fighting to maintain full guard but Teddington has managed to sneak the leg through.

Teddington is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fox defends it well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Teddington is looking to take a break and control but Fox is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Teddington is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fox has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's time! Fox's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Fox works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Fox looking to sit in guard and control but Teddington gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Teddington might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fox haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Teddington avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Teddington tries to pass to full mount but Fox defends it.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Fox here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Fox has his hands clasped together around Teddington's back. He's all about the action.

Teddington is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Fox!

Teddington lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

BOOM! Teddington connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Fox tries to control Teddington's body but Teddington pushes him off. Fox squirms to his side and now Teddington has his back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Teddington is looking to control Fox but Fox is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Fox rolls, trying to escape but Teddington keeps control of the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fox is working hard here to advance position.
Fox grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Fox prevents Teddington from getting a body triangle.

Teddington has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fox has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Teddington's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Teddington gets his hands free as Fox looks to control.
Teddington looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Fox is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Fox trying to control but not successfully.
Fox is trapped and Teddington is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Fox looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Teddington is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fox defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Teddington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Teddington shoots for a double leg takedown but Fox sprawls well. He's pushed Teddington's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fox misses with a low kick.
Fox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Teddington closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fox is looking for a sweep.
Teddington advances to mount.

Teddington is working for a guillotine from mount but Fox frees his head quite easily.
Teddington tries to control but Fox wriggling away.

Teddington takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Teddington is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fox has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Fox sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Fox works his way to full guard. Good work.
Teddington is looking to work some ground and pound but Fox has wrist control.
Teddington working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Fox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Teddington postures up.

Fox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Teddington gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Teddington passes Fox's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fox tries to roll over but Teddington keeps him under control.
Teddington is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Teddington frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Teddington working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Fox turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Teddington off and cradles Fox's limp body as Teddington celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Bob Teddington!
