The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Aoki misses.

Semerad closes the distance and clinches.
Aoki is pressed up against the cage. Semerad has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aoki down to the mat. Aoki avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Aoki thuds a left hand into Semerad's body.
Semerad is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Semerad checks a leg kick nicely.
Semerad takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Semerad drives through and clinches with Aoki against the cage.
Semerad is looking for a takedown.
Semerad has Aoki pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Aoki manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ty Semerad. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Semerad prevents Aoki from breaking the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Semerad is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Aoki sees it coming and defends easily.
Semerad looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Aoki tries to kick Semerad off but Semerad keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Aoki is defending against the submission attempts here by Semerad.
Aoki is not content to let Semerad control the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Still in half guard, Semerad seems content to control.
Aoki is trying to stand.
Semerad thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Semerad has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Aoki defend it? Semerad steps over the head and cranks it - Aoki is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Semerad!
