Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Fairfax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Suroki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Suroki will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Freddie Fairfax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Suroki!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suroki throws a right hand that Fairfax ducks under and follows up with a left that Fairfax also avoids with ease.
Fairfax lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Suroki waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fairfax.
It looked like Fairfax was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Suroki.
Fairfax will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Suroki connects with the punch.
Suroki is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fairfax.
Fairfax scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Fairfax rushes Suroki and presses him up against the cage.
Fairfax has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Suroki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Suroki stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Fairfax successfully pulls guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Fairfax's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Suroki has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fairfax is proving hard to escape from.

Fairfax is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Suroki presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Suroki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Fairfax lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Suroki is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Suroki stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Fairfax.
Fairfax will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Suroki's coach down at Nonstop Intensity was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Suroki's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Fairfax keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Fairfax has Suroki up against the cage in a clinch.
Suroki wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Suroki wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fairfax has him pressed against the cage.

Fairfax blocks an uppercut.
Suroki prevents a takedown attempt there.
Suroki makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Fairfax blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Suroki stops a takedown attempt from Fairfax.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddie Fairfax. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fairfax manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Suroki looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Fairfax wants to get back to his feet but Suroki is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Suroki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fairfax is keeping the position for now.

Fairfax is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Suroki is controlling him.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Fairfax looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Suroki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fairfax swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Suroki sitting in guard here, content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A head kick misses from Fairfax.
Fairfax is looking to clinch.
Fairfax fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Suroki throws a leg kick but Fairfax checks it.
Fairfax throws a big counter combination but Suroki scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Suroki takes the fight into the clinch.
Suroki lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Fairfax fails to pull guard.
Suroki lands a shot to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Suroki tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Suroki prevents the takedown attempt.
Suroki tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Fairfax is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Suroki gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Suroki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Suroki slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Suroki throws a good cross that connects.
Suroki misses with a double jab
and Fairfax counters with a three punch combo that has Suroki backing up. Suroki nods at Fairfax to acknowledge the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suroki lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Fairfax at a distance.
Fairfax is breathing heavily.
Suroki lands a head shot.
Suroki cracks Fairfax with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Fairfax falls to his knees and Suroki doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Suroki!
David Suroki was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
