Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hipolito Snyder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Zapelini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hipolito Snyder has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hipolito Snyder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Renan Zapelini!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zapelini fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Snyder, pushing him back against the cage.
Snyder is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Zapelini is defending well.

Snyder successfully pulls guard.
Zapelini trying to control but Snyder is working from the bottom.
Snyder doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Zapelini trying to control the position from guard on top but Snyder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Snyder preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snyder working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Zapelini.
Zapelini trying to control but Snyder is working from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Snyder misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Snyder gets a clinch.

Snyder has picked Zapelini up - he's going for a ride! Snyder dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Zapelini looking for submissions off his back.
Snyder drops an elbow to the side of Zapelini's head.
Snyder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Snyder is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Snyder throwing shots but Zapelini is blocking nicely.
Snyder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zapelini on the ground.

Zapelini is staying active underneath Snyder, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Zapelini manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Snyder distracts Zapelini with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Snyder keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Zapelini's head.
Snyder throwing strikes but missing.
Snyder has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Snyder trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Snyder distracts Zapelini with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Snyder wants to control from the top but Zapelini keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zapelini thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Snyder is working Zapelini over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Snyder avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Zapelini not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zapelini is on top in guard.

Zapelini is pushing down on Snyder's leg trying to pass to half guard. Snyder is fighting to maintain full guard but Zapelini has managed to sneak the leg through.

Zapelini is trying to work for a kimura but Snyder is defending well.

Zapelini looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Snyder wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zapelini slows the pace down in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Zapelini is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Snyder has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hipolito Snyder will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Zapelini scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Snyder manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Zapelini drives through and clinches with Snyder against the cage.

Snyder works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Zapelini wants to sweep here but Snyder controlling him for the moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zapelini controls Snyder momentarily but Snyder frees himself.
Snyder won't allow Zapelini to sweep him here.
Snyder scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Snyder lands a couple of elbows.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Snyder tries to stand but Zapelini is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Zapelini escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Snyder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Zapelini is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Snyder defends well.
Snyder really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Snyder lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Snyder working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Snyder postures up and lands a big shot to Zapelini's brow.
Zapelini is trying to control the position but Snyder postures up.

Zapelini pushes a forearm under Snyder's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Snyder is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Renan Zapelini!
