Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Corey Terror (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hunter Byers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terror's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Superjoint Ritual - Dress Like A Target. Corey Terror could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hunter Byers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Corey Terror!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Byers!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terror lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Byers at a distance.

Terror lands a big shot that drops Byers! Can he finish him?


It looks like Hunter Byers has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Terror wants to pass the guard but Byers is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Byers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Terror manages to get himself to full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Byers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Terror has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Byers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Byers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Byers lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Byers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Terror bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Byers's guard.


Byers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Terror can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Byers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Byers controls Terror momentarily but Terror frees himself.
Terror throws a big elbow that misses.
Byers tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Byers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Byers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Terror is aware though and is defending well.

Terror drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Terror jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Terror is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Byers keeping moving, preventing Terror from controlling successfully.
Terror knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Byers on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Terror throws a low kick but Byers moves out of range easily.
Byers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Terror.
Terror lands a nice hook to Byers's body. Byers takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Terror feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Byerss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Terror fakes the body blow, causing Byers to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Byers goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Corey Terror!
